Jean-Luc SANNE received the PhD degree in neurosciences at the University Claude Bernard of Lyon (France). He has been a research fellow in the United States at the University of Georges Town, Washington DC, and then at the National Institutes of Health. After an experience in the private sector, he joined the European Commission in 2000 as a Scientific Officer.
He is there devoted to the definition and to the implementation of health research programmes and policies of the European Union. He has been in charge of the in vitro diagnostics area at the Health directorate of Directorate-General for Research & Innovation for many years. He is now strongly involved in the orientations and in the development of policy European initiatives in the field of personalised medicine.
